The second annual Walk & Roll for Mobility held in September was a great success! Two independent physical therapy clinics, Creative Therapeutics and Northern Rehab Physical Therapy Specialists, teamed together to kick off National Physical Therapy Month and hosted a 1.5 mile walk along the DeKalb Nature Trail to encourage our community to be active while supporting the Voluntary Action Center of DeKalb County. “We chose the Voluntary Action Center as the recipient of this fundraiser because their various programs support the needs in our community” comments Lynn Batalden of Creative Therapeutics. This is the second year of this event with over 50 participants walking, rolling, strolling and riding along the trail on a beautiful warm fall day. Ken Olson of Northern Rehab adds,
“We accomplished our goal and exceeded last year’s donation amount. We are happy to present the Voluntary Action Center with a check for $1,200.00 to help support their excellent community programs such as Meals on Wheels, TransVAC and MedVAC.” Pictured here (left to right) is Voluntary Action Center staff Ron Mullen, Colleen Bredeson, Paul LaLonde, and Leah Jurdal; Lynn Batalden, Physical Therapist and owner of Creative Therapeutics; and Ken Olson, Physical Therapist and President of Northern Rehab.
Both Creative Therapeutics and Northern Rehab extend their gratitude to the community members that participated in this event and supported the Voluntary Action Center.
