Blumen Gardens presented a check to Moria Nagy, DCCG co-president. The check was a contribution from Blumen Gardens Day of Giving. On a Day of Giving, Blumen Gardens shares a portion of their proceeds with a different area non-profit. DCCG is a organization that has gardens in 50 different locations all around DeKalb County, raising thousands of pounds of fresh produce for people in need.
Also a new program of DCCG, is the Walnut Grove Vocational Farm for individuals with special needs.
“The funds raised by Blumen Gardens will help with the expansion of our Annie Glidden Community Orchard and the Five Points Food Forest.” Said Dan Kenney, director of DCCG. “Soon we will be able to add fresh fruit to our vegetable donations.”
