Paula Buccoil, Project Manager for the Field Museum’s exhibit, “Opening the Vault: Wonders at the 1893 World’s Fair” will visit the Sycamore History Museum this Thursday, June 4th for the June 2015 Brown Bag lunch. Her talk will explore the importance of the Fair (cultural, scientific and technological), facts about Fair attendance, an overview of the Fair grounds and Midway (how many and what type of buildings), what was exhibited at the Fair (products, technology, scientific and cultural displays), as well as the legacy of the Fair itself.
The Brown Bag Lunch is sponsored by and will be held at the Sycamore History Museum, 1730 N. Main Street in Sycamore at noon on Thursday. This program is generously funded by the Mary E. Stevens Concert and Lecture Fund. The discussion is free but donations to the Sycamore History Museum are always appreciated.
