The McNulty School of Irish Dance is located in Naperville and is one of the largest and most active schools of traditional Irish dance in the Midwest. The school was founded in 1971 by Barbara McNulty, T.C.R.G. (Teagascóir Choimisiúin le Rinci Gaelacha, Gaelic for “Commission Certified Irish Dance Teacher”). Ms. McNulty is recognized by An Coimisiun (the Irish Dance Commission in Dublin Ireland) and the North American and Mid-American Irish Dance Teachers Associations and is fully certified to teach Irish Step Solo, Figure, and Ceili dancing. Because of her certifications and recognitions, the McNulty Irish Dancers are eligible to compete in sanctioned Irish Dance Competitions around the world.

Kishwaukee College will host a performance by the McNulty Irish Dancers, free and open to the public. Pictured are several of the McNulty students wearing the traditional Irish dance performance costumes.

The event is sponsored by the Kishwaukee College International Education Committee and the Continuing Education Department. Lisa March, Director of Continuing Education at Kishwaukee College, said, “Dance is one of Ireland’s most prized cultural traditions and the dancers from the McNulty School have a wonderful reputation as beautiful and powerful dancers.
