DeKalb County is the recipient of a recently awarded EPA matching grant of $58,615 to introduce a watershed-based approach to stormwater assessment and planning as a result of the cooperative efforts of local community leaders. DCCF has worked with the DeKalb County Stormwater Management Planning Committee since 2009 to identify opportunities to address flooding and stormwater management issues throughout DeKalb County.
DCCF and its partners are contributing $56,340 of cash and in-kind support and will lead a soon-to-be formed Watershed Planning Committee in this 18-month project. Planning and outreach efforts will be concentrated in the east-central area of DeKalb County, encompassing the communities of Cortland, Maple Park and portions of Sycamore.
