Downtown Genoa’s Quilt & Fiber Arts Walk is not just another quilt show. Join them this Wednesday through Sunday, January 25th – 29th, for over twenty different displays of quilts, baskets, needlepoint, embroidery, knitting, crocheting, lace, tatting, quilling, sewing, felting and more throughout downtown Genoa. Displays, demonstrations, bed turnings, appraisals and all the rest will go on Wednesday-Thursday 10-4, Friday 10-8, Saturday 10-4 and Sunday Noon-4.
Genoa will be the place to be for free gifts, free ‘stop & swap’, free quilt squares, miniature quilt extravaganza, demos in basketry, quilling, spinning, natural dyes, tatting, certified quilt appraisals and bed turnings. Reserve a cozy fireplace for your group to work or chat today. There will be free demonstrations and workshops daily.
Bring the kids with on the weekend for hands on projects, demonstrations, contests, free lessons and special treats all around town. Kids Days crafts include photo t-shirts, fabric bead making, paint a t-shirt, quilts, tote bags and pizza, learn to crochet, make a dream pillow and learn the paper art of quilling,
Janette Dwyer presents ‘A Century of Quilts – The Ruby McKim Story’ on Saturday at 11am in the CASCO Auditorium, 312 Eureka Street. Needle Workers Delight will be at the Genoa Cafe, 233 W. Main Street on Sunday from 2-4pm. Serve yourself from a choice of homemade soups and breads, a delicious dessert and beverage. While you’re relaxing over your meal, browse the many stations
they will have set up with different quick projects. Choose up to five to try out and complete on the spot! The Needle Workers Delight is guaranteed to be a great Sunday afternoon finale to the 2012 Quilt & Fiber Arts Walk.
