The DeKalb County Marines are hosting a DeKalb County Toy Run this Saturday, October 15th. The Toy Run begins at the Genoa VFW, 311 South Washington Street in Genoa. Registration and first bike out at 10am, last bike out by 11am.
There will be a Bike Run breakfast at Spring Grove Restaurant, 682 Park Avenue in Genoa from 8:30 till 10:30am. A portion of the proceeds from breakfast is being donated to the Toys for Tots program in DeKalb County (please note: breakfast is NOT included in ticket price).
Pre-registered Riders $15, passengers $10. Day of event Riders $20 Passengers $15. Ticket price includes a lunch ticket for a pulled pork sandwich, potato salad, pork & beans, with cold drink (soda) to be served at 2pm.
If you want a T-shirt, please pre order with ticket purchase, T-shirt cost $8. Day of the event T-shirts cost $10 first come first served. All proceeds will go to the DeKalb County Toys for Tots program.
Blessing of the bikes will take place at 10:15am in the back parking lot of the Genoa VFW. Father Seigel of St. Catherine Church of Genoa will provide the services.
From the Genoa VFW, the DeKalb County Toy Run will proceed east on Rt 72 and down through Burlington, to Maple Park. Then head South to Hinckley, and wind over to Sandwich. The ride will continue across DeKalb County and end in Sycamore at the Vets club on California St. The ride is about 87 miles from start to finish, it takes about two and a half hours to complete if you stay on the route. The route information will be given out at registration in Genoa at the VFW.
All bikes are automatically entered into the Poker Run. Playing Five Card Stud, you MUST MAKE ALL STOPS to receive cards Best hand $50, in case of tie, highest card pulled wins. First hand in gets to choose drawing position, first or second draw. Announcement from stage when poker hands are to be checked.
