Background:
I have lived in DeKalb all but 3 months of my life, I am 49 yrs old. My high school class graduated in 1980. I am married almost 32 years and have three sons and four grandchildren ( two boys and two girls) and a baby girl due May 12th.
I’ve worked in construction (drywall) for almost 30 yrs. I currently work for Sycamore schools as a building technician, a position I’ve held for a little over three years. I also serve as an officer at the DeKalb Moose Lodge, have been on that board for six years. I have been involved in DeKalb schools as a volunteer for about 15- 20 years. I love baseball, bowling, and golf. I love watching all sports.
Platform:
Well I have been on the board for almost four years, and I have been dedicated to the position and would continue to do so. I have learned alot in my four years and there is more to learn and I know that. I am an honest person. If you would call me with a question, I would not lie to you or blow you off, because I believe as a tax payer you have the right to know whats going on. I am not a push over. My friends that know me would tell you that this is my town it belongs to us and every decision that we make will or could effect us for the rest of our lives. I feel like that the most important thing is to make sure that we can provide the best opportunity for our kids to get the best education that we can. I feel like I have worked hard and will continue to do so . So thats why I think people should vote for me. Thank you.

I would not vote for Mr. Davis in a million years.
At the July 22, 2008 school Facilities Planning Committee (FPC) meeting, he was the only school official to vote “no” to building the new DeKalb High School with a core for 3000 students. Then the minutes of the meeting had this note about his vote:
Fred Davis No (Clarification needed)
The “clarification” was to take back his “no” vote.
Furthermore, my experiences at FPC meetings post-referendum render me unable to vote for ANY school board candidate who served on this committee, whether they be board incumbents or “civilian” candidates like Cohen Barnes.
