The DeKalb area is currently experiencing some cell phone outages. Because of these outages, some cell phone providers are not able to reach a 911 center. We have identified that Verizon cell phones and U.S.Cellular cell phones are not working properly. Currently, all land line phones and other cell phone providers are able to reach a 911 center.
If you have an emergency, please try to use a land line phone to call for assistance. The DeKalb Police Department has already contacted the telephone providers to find a solution. We will continue to work with the cell phone providers until the problem is fixed. . The DeKalb Police Department will provide an update when the cell phone outages are resolved.
