Sycamore Speedway successfully got their first Friday/Saturday race weekend in this past weekend. Friday’s crash and bang Demolition Derby included full size Spectator cars along with a Mini Van, they put on quite a show. That lead to Saturday’s special event which included all racing on the big track with Super Late Models, Late Models, IRS Midgets, Modified Compacts and 4 Bar Super Late Models plus the infamous bubble gum race for the kids. The Bubble Gum race allows the kids to come onto the race track and do a dash for as much bubble gum that they can collect. For this race 2,850 pieces of gum were thrown out for the kids to collect and kids from toddlers to teenagers participate. It has been a timeless tradition at Sycamore Speedway.
