(DeKalb) – Meet at the DeKalb Public Library on the second Tuesday of every month for a book club just for seniors.
Meet on Tuesday, August 12, at 11:00 a.m., to discuss Still Life: A Novel by Louise Penny.
Meet the diverse & individualistic people of Three Pines, a quaint village in southern Quebec that, somewhat jokingly, seems to have certain cloaking powers that hide it from the outside world.
Enter Chief Inspector Gamache and his team of the Surete du Quebec Montreal, come to this rural town to investigate a homicide that doesn’t exactly add up as a mere accident. So, murder, the first of many, in this tiny town that is the subject of Louise Penny’s Inspector Armand Gamache detective series, which is much more than just a murder mystery series.
Jane Neal, a local fixture in the tiny hamlet of Three Pines just north of the U.S. border, has been found dead in the woods. The locals are certain it’s nothing more than a tragic hunting accident, but Chief Inspector Gamache smells something foul in these remote woods and soon comes to believe that Jane Neal died at the hands of someone much more sinister than a careless bowhunter.
