
The DeKalb Area Agricultural Heritage Association is proud to sponsor the 18th Anniversary Screening of Barbed Wire Pioneers, an award-winning documentary detailing the achievements of Isaac Ellwood, Joseph Glidden, and Jacob Haish, the first successful manufacturers of barbed wire. Find out these mens’ invention changed the face of the world and shaped the future of DeKalb, NIU, and the American West. The Screening will be held this Thursday, September 22nd, from 6-7:30pm at the Egyptian Theatre in downtown DeKalb.
The documentary tells how these men’s efforts brought NIU to DeKalb, spurred continued agricultural innovation in our area, and brought our county into the modern era through their generous contributions and progressive influence. The screening includes a panel discussion with Director Jeff Chown, Brian Reis, Director of Ellwood House Museum and Rob Glover, Director of Glidden Homestead. General admission is $10.00. Students and teachers admitted free with I.D.
