Day #2 of Corn Fest back in downtown DeKalb today! On today’s schedule is Autofest which runs from 8:00 am to 3:30pm rain or shine. Autofest will be at the Old Mike Mooney Car Dealership on the corner of 4th St. and Locust St.. Also, the The Chuck Siebrasse Corn Boil is today at the corner of Lincoln Hwy. and Fourth St. between 11am and 2pm or whenever the corn runs out. Typically, Corn Fest goes through 70 tons of sweet corn during the weekend!
There will be free one hour Historical Bus Tours on Saturday at 10am – 12pm – 2pm – 4 pm. The bus tours of DeKalb will be offered by historian Steve Bigolin in 2 hour intervals. Steve will tantalize you with interesting tidbits from DeKalb’s historic past. Bus pick up will be at the corner of Grove and 4th Streets, across the street from the Senior Center. First come, first served. Space is limited. Please, no children.
Carnival hours are 11am-11pm on Saturday. Wristband hours are 11-3 and it costs $22.00 for a wristband. It costs $55.00 for Weekend Mega Pass – good for all carnival hours all weekend long. Megapass will be available for purchase until Saturday at noon.
The Beer Garden is open today from noon to 11pm. This year, the festival will feature a family-friendly beer garden. Visitors to this year’s beer garden do not need to be 21 to enter. There will be a unique Light Show at the Soundstage immediately before Hi-Infidelity takes the stage at 9pm tonite. Community Stage schedule and Soundstage schedules are after the jump.
