State Representative Bob Pritchard will be hosting a citizenship workshop to help those legally living in the US become American citizens. The workshop is being held in conjunction with the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights and its partners. Volunteers from various organizations will be on hand to help assist applicants in filling out the necessary forms and documents.
The event, which will also have information on Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents (DAPA), will be this Saturday January 16th at 9:30am at Conexion Comunidad, 637 N. 11th Street in DeKalb. If you know anyone that could be helped by this event, please share this news. To be eligible for citizenship you must be a legal permanent resident for at least 5 years, or 3 if married to a US citizen.
For more information on the event, call Rep. Pritchard’s office at (815) 748-3494 or visit his website.
