The Village of Kirkland’s website has been designated as the Official Fairdale/Kirkland Emergency Information website. It will be updated with current information as needed. An Official GoFundMe account has been set up through the Alpine Bank in Kirkland for monetary donations.
Currently the need for donations are: Work Gloves; flashlights; heavy duty garbage bags; cleaning supplies; laundry supplies;first aid kits (in ziploc bags if possible);pet food; Ibuprofen, Advil, Aleve; hand sanitizer; toiletries ;baby clothes; batteries (AA,D), baby formula, plastic silverware, non perishable items, pack and plays, gently used car seats.
The following local businesses in DeKalb and Sycamore are collecting items to donate:
Flippin Eggs will be a drop off location for anything anyone wants to donate. Flippin Eggs is located at 831 South 4th St. They will collect items today from 6am til 3pm. Bottled water is a big need. They are also going to try to work with the Red Cross to set up an area to feed people, volunteers, workers, home owners, those in need.
H&R BLOCK in DeKalb and Sycamore is offering assistance to the victims of last night’s tornado:
1. Free extensions for any tornado victim in need of tax assistance….and counseling on the tax issues around this devastating event.
2. A collection site has been established at both locations for non perishable food, clothing, infant supplies, cleaning supplies, toiletries, bedding, etc.
Lover’s Playground is collecting items and donations at tonight’s Ladies Night at their location, 57 E. Lincoln Hwy. in downtown DeKalb.
