North Grove School, located 3 miles northwest of Sycamore, was built in 1878 by the Swedish Evangelical Lutheran Church. Originally a parochial and Sunday school, it served pupils of various ethnic backgrounds, with lessons taught in Swedish, preserving cultural heritage while fostering education.
