Ken Olson, physical therapist at Northern Rehab Physical Therapy Specialists, recently presented on physical therapy management of athletes with low back pain for a sports medicine symposium presented by the Aurora HealthCare system in the greater Milwaukee area. In the presentation, Olson outlined the examination procedures and manual therapy techniques combined with specific exercise programs that he uses in managing athletes with low back pain. He presented the cases of a golfer and long distance runner who both had positive responses to physical therapy in improving pain and restoring function to return to their sport.
With over 27 years of clinical experience combined with fellowship training in manual physical therapy, Olson has developed a national and international reputation as an expert clinician, educator, and author in the examination and management of spinal and TMJ disorders.
Olson is Board certified in orthopaedic physical therapy and highly respected in the field of manual therapy of the spine. He is also an adjunct faculty member at NIU and Marquette University’s doctor of physical therapy programs. Olson maintains a full time clinical physical therapy practice in the DeKalb Resource Parkway Northern Rehab location and is available to accept new patients with joint and muscle conditions of the spine and extremities.
