The Kishwaukee College Center for Business Development is offering two presentations in the upcoming week for local business and industry.
Attracting and Retaining a Qualified Workforce will be on Tuesday, November 10, from 8:30 – 9:30a.m. in the Kishwaukee College Conference Center. The presentation will cover the two main factors that influence attracting and maintaining a qualified workforce: company culture and employee engagement. Presenter Bernie Pupino will discuss how to develop and maintain a company culture that engages employees. Pupino has over 45 years experience in manufacturing and is currently the Coordinator of the Illinois Network for Advanced Manufacturing (INAM) Grant at Kishwaukee College. This presentation is free to participants.
Succession Planning will be on Tuesday, November 17, and is part of the “Breakfast Briefings” series offered by the Kishwaukee College Center for Business Development. Breakfast will be from 7:45 – 8:15a.m. and the presentation will be from 8:15 – 9:30a.m. The presenter is Mike Vella, the Vice President of Operations for The Suter Company. Vella will discuss the structured plan he created to develop internal candidates for executive and leadership positions within a company, and how that plan failed. That failure, however, led to a different paradigm that resulted in success. The Succession Planning presentation has a cost of $30, which includes breakfast.
