Deputies responded to Shabbona Grove Road west of Johnson Road after a caller advised there was a trailer in the roadway that appeared to have hit the railroad trestle. Upon arrival deputies located a 53 foot trailer approximately 400 yards from the underpass parked on the roadway. The trailer had extensive damage to it and the semi tractor had detached and left the scene.
Deputies are asking if anyone has seen the driver to contact the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office at 815-895-2155. The bridge and railroad trestle were inspected by Union Pacific Railroad and deemed safe. The accident is still under investigation.
