JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Insurance Producer’s Assistant
Client Company: Kimberly M. Barrios Insurance Agency
Reports To: Kimberly M. Barrios

SUMMARY:
The primary role of this position is to support the Insurance Producer with data entry, mailings and quoting. In addition, it is expected that the Insurance Producer’s Assistant occasionally assist with prospecting endeavors. Collaborative work with producer, staff members and the Agent may be required. This is primarily a support position; however some customer contact may be required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Entering Customer Information into Data System
• Running Queries/Reports to be used as sales tools
• Preparing business-related documents, as needed, using Microsoft Office programs & mailing such documents
• Having necessary product knowledge and understanding of underwriting guidelines so as to prepare “mock” quotes for customers
• Contacting his/her centers of influence in an effort to drive more business into the agency
• Communicating well with Producer, Agent and office staff
• Ability to make phone calls or send e-mails to potential customers in an effort to obtain additional information or to solicit business.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
• Good organizational skills and efficiency are mandatory
• Pleasant, welcoming personality with a strong desire
and ability to follow the Golden Rule in all interactions with
clients and/or staff are mandatory
• Desire to work as part of a team, with a common goal, is
crucial
• Must be willing to work independently, after initial period of instruction and carry out assigned tasks with-in a specified period of time
• Prior office experience is helpful but not required
• Prior Insurance Experience is preferred
• Insurance Producer’s License is required before start date
• Good verbal and writing skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the representative is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The representative frequently is required to stand and walk, for short periods of time. The representative must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Accommodations may be made for persons with disabilities.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
No supervisory function is required of this position at this time. This position reports to the Producer, but also works under the direction of the Agent.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma preferred and at least six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience along with a strong referral from a business professional or school authority.
