A familiar green monster arrives in downtown Genoa this Saturday evening, August 25th, when Genoa Main Street brings Shrek to its Movies on Main Street. The show begins at dusk in the municipal parking lot at Main and Genoa Street in downtown Genoa. Free popcorn served up by volunteers is a popular feature at Genoa’s Movies on Main Street.
“We have been showing free outdoor movies for 15 years,” says Gordon Jones, president of the organization. “The movies are free and so is the popcorn. Families bring chairs and blankets and have a great time.”
The showing of Shrek is sponsored by Resource Bank, Genoa Township, Kish Health Physicians Group, Unlimited Performance, Waste Management and Custom Aluminum Products. Genoa Main Street, Inc. is a volunteer run, donation funded 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and preserving downtown Genoa.
