Come to Genoa this Sunday, August 26th, for unique look into Pioneer days. The 27th Annual Pioneer Days will run from 11am until 4pm this Sunday in Genoa. The theme for this year’s event is ‘Down on the Farm’. Old time tradesmen & crafters demonstrate skills needed on the farm such as churning butter, wood carving and making quilts. There will be period costumes, stagecoach rides and more.
Many parents and grandparents bring cameras so they have great pictures for their scrapbooks, and Christmas cards. The caboose is a great photo opportunity as well as pictures on the stagecoach.
Come out and participate in the hands on activities such as learning how to make rope and sack races. Enjoy the folk music played live by area musician while you look around. A pork chop lunch is available cooked by the Genoa Lions Club. Genoa Pioneer Days are sponsored by and held at the Kishwaukee Valley Heritage Society, 622 Park Ave. in Genoa.
