For Sure, the Lanes will be Closed!

The Illinois Department of Transportation announces that beginning Monday June 18,  nighttime lane closures for resurfacing will resume on Illinois 23 in Sycamore between Peace Road and Oakland Drive. This work is part of a $4.4 million project consisting of ADA sidewalk improvements and resurfacing on Illinois 23 from Fox Avenue in Sycamore to Fourth Street in DeKalb.

To minimize the impact on traffic and local businesses, lane closures will be set up from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Businesses and residences along Illinois 23 will be accessible while construction is taking place; however, there may be short periods of inaccessibility overnight to driveways and entrances when construction crews are working. Our goal is to minimize inconveniences as best as we can without sacrificing the safety of the public. Work is expected to continue into August.
