In the odd numbered years, Illinois has the opportunity to elect leaders at the municipal, township, school board, park district, and other local office levels. Candidates are out already, gathering signatures. It’s not too late, though, if you’ve been thinking about getting involved and throwing your hat in the ring.
See the table below, put together by DeKalb County Clerk and Recorder, John Acardo, about which positions are up for election in each of our DeKalb County governmental entities. The County Clerk is responsible only for Election Day activities, and not for the procedures leading up to when voting begins.
Signature requirements, petitions, objections/challenges, and other pre-Election Day activities are coordinated through the local Clerk, Secretary, or administrative office of that jurisdiction. In the section below, you can find contact information for those individuals.
