Work is scheduled to begin Monday, April 30, and is expected to take 5-7 days, closing the intersection of Rt. 23 and Rt. 38 in downtown DeKalb. The Union Pacific Railroad needs to do track repair on the rail road crossing located at the intersection.
This will require a closure of Route 38 just east of 3rd Street and just west of 5th Street. Third Street will remain open to thru traffic as will 5th Street. Route 23 will be closed south of Locust and north of Grove. Locust Street will remain open as will the PNC Bank Drive-thru. Grove Street will also remain open as will the entrance to Public lot 3 located on Rt. 23. If you have any questions regarding this work please call Joel Maurer, City of DeKalb at 815-748-2070.
