Teacher in the Library is a free program designed to assist 3rd-6th grade students with homework help in any subject area. Parents or guardians are required to stay in the library during the session. Ernest Hemingway and the Voice of the Lost Generation

With the publication of The Sun Also Rises in 1926, Ernest Hemingway began the movement known as the “Lost Generation.” This movement often depicted a writer’s experiences in World War I and the years surrounding the conflict. The stories often involved the decadent and reckless lifestyles of the wealthy. Fellow writers of the movement included: T. S. Eliot, William Faulkner, C. S. Lewis, Edna St. Vincent Millay and F. Scott Fitzgerald. During this program we will discuss many of Hemingway’s most important and inspiring works. Participants will get a glimpse into one of the most endearing literary minds of the 20th-century. This program will also include a discussion of Hemingway’s life achievements and literary awards, with a viewing of some clips from some of his best-known film adaptations. Guided Gesture Drawing

Dennis Warner Concert

Singer and Songwriter Dennis Warner draws on his wealth of stage experience in creating a warm, welcoming, and intimate concert.
