DeKalb, IL – September 2, 2025 – The DeKalb Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the finalists for the 2025 ATHENA Award and to recognize the distinguished Women of Accomplishment honorees. These awards celebrate outstanding women leaders in our community who demonstrate professional excellence, community service, and a commitment to empowering women.
The ATHENA Award is an internationally recognized honor presented to an individual who embodies the spirit of ATHENA through exceptional leadership and dedication to the success of others. This year’s finalists are:
Devyn Grzywa – Community Mortgage Lender, FNBO
Dr. Donna Larson – Principal, DeKalb High School
Rylie Loucks-Kues – Director of Community Programming & Outreach, Family Service Agency
Linda Sherman – Director of Admissions, DeKalb Area Retirement Center (Oak Crest)
In addition, the Chamber is proud to recognize the 2025 Women of Accomplishment, honoring retired women who have made a lasting impact through their professional achievements, leadership, and community contributions. This year’s honorees are and Kathy Dombek and Donna Willrett.
The awards will be presented at the ATHENA and Women of Accomplishment Award Reception on Thursday, October 16th at 6:30pm at the Egyptian Theatre. The community is invited to join in celebrating the finalists and honorees at this inspiring evening. Early bird tickets are available online for $18 through October 10th.
