Have you ever wondered what it was like on a farm? Learn all about it with the Sycamore History Museum. Join the museum for ‘Days on the Family Farm’ at 7 p.m. this Thursday, May 27th at the Sycamore History Museum.
Carrie A. Meyer will showcase the large-scale evolution of agriculture from horses to automobiles and tractors, a surprisingly vibrant family and community life, and the business of commercial farming. Details such as what items were bought and sold, what was planted and harvested, the temperature and rainfall, births and deaths, and the direction of the wind are gathered to reveal a rich picture of a world shared by many small farmers in the Midwest.
This event is free; donations will be accepted. The Sycamore History Museum is located at 1730 N. Main Street in Sycamore. For more information please visit their website.
