Join the DeKalb County Clerk & Recorder, John J. Acardo, as he welcomes candidates seeking office for the March 20, 2012 Primary Election. Candidates will begin filing their petitions at 8:30 AM on Monday, November 28, 2011. Members of the media and the public are encouraged to attend to interview and speak with candidates as they file.
Historically, candidates begin lining up approximately at 7:30 AM the day of, and must wait in line until the official open of the office.
This year, County Clerk & Recorder, John Acardo, has partnered with the Joiner History Room to have a historical display of ‘Elections past…’ Most notably, the poll book, and tally sheets from the 1860 Presidential Election will be on display, (i.e. the Election of President Lincoln); as well as historical petition sheets and much more.
