Come out to the 3rd Annual Burning Cicada Music Festival today for a day of sharing music, art, and good company. This years Musical guests include D.K. Kohlars, Dori Berg, and Mathew Tembo. Exhibitors include stained glass works, ceramics, chair massage, hendi, arts and crafts, as well as many other surprises.
Come out and be a part of something different, beautiful, and worth supporting in your community. The Festival will be held from 12:00p.m. to 6:00p.m on Saturday September 22nd (the first day of Autumn) Remember to bring a picnic lunch and lawn chairs, as the lodge does not furnish chairs. The festival will again be held at the MacQueen Forest Preserve in Kirkland IL at 3640 Scout Rd. Follow the Winged Cicada Signs out of Kirkland and you should have no trouble getting there. The Shelter House that has become the festivals home, has electricity and a washrooms. It is in itself rustic and elegant.
The main lodge will be the site of the ongoing concert. Follow the paved walkway to the lodge,which will be heated. Please remember to bring water for yourself, and something warm if you plan on walking in the woods.
