Emerald ash borer, Asain longhorned beetle, brown marmorated stink bug, and multicolored Asian lady beetle are just some of the alien insects that have been found in the U.S. and Illinois. The identification, biology, and management of these and other invaders will be discussed at two seminars this week, offered during the day and the evening. They will also address some of the reasons for what appears to be an increase in these invaders.
The cost is $5 per person. Pre-registration is required. Sessions may be cancelled if there is insufficient enrollment. The first seminar is this Tuesday, May 8th from 1:00pm-2:30pm. The evening session will be this Thursday, May 10th from 7:00pm-9:30pm. Both sessions will be held at the DeKalb County Farm Bureau, 1350 West Prairie Drive in Sycamore.
