Ben Franklin Plumbing of Northern Illinois installed the Perma-Liner system in one of the main sewers located under the Allerton Mansion and the Stable.
The Robert Allerton Park is a 1,517-acre park, nature center, and conference center near Monticello, Illinois on the upper Sangamon River. The park and manor house, The Farms, are attributed to owner Robert Allerton, industrialist heir, artist, art collector and garden designer. Robert and his adopted son John Gregg Allerton donated the complex to the University of Illinois in 1946. The Allerton Natural Area within the park is a National Natural Landmark. As of 2007, the park was used by approximately 100,000 visitors per year. It has been described as “a vast prairie turned into a personal fantasy land of neoclassical statues, Far Eastern art, and huge European-style gardens surrounding a Georgian-Revival mansion”
Richard Burton, head building and grounds engineer has worked at the park over 30 years since he was 14. He knows the buildings and grounds like no other man and treats them like his own. He knew there was a problem with the main sewer. They host over 100 weddings and events per year and they kept on getting sewer backups in the boiler room.
After realizing that digging under the mansion was not an option, he found Perma-Liner and certified installer Ben Franklin Plumbing of Northern Illinois. After a drainvision video of the main sewer, the problem was very clear. The bottom of the sewer was gone in several places. Because of Allerton Park’s busy schedule the work had to be done in a short window of time. The Ben Franklin liner crew worked through the night and the sewer was fixed by the very next morning.
