The DeKalb County Courthouse 24 Hour Veterans Vigil will take place on Friday, November 4, 2022 starting at 4:00pm and ending on Saturday at 4:00pm. An opening ceremony will start on Friday at 3:30pm previous to the vigil.
Any veteran that wishes to assist by standing a guard watch should contact Dwain Adkins at 815-895-6927. There are 24 guard watches of one hour each. More than one veteran can stand watch at the same time.
The public is encouraged to attend the opening ceremony at 3:30pm on Friday, November 4, 2022 and also may stop by at any time during the 24 hour vigil. Guest speakers at the ceremony will be State Representative Jeff Kiecher, Command Sergeant Major Robert Coulter Retired Illinois Army National Guard, Dwain Adkins and singing a couple of songs will be Terri Goodman.
