With the recent closing of Bars and Restaurants by Governor JB Pritzker, DeKalb has temporarily closed another restaurant.
Tavern on Lincoln will be closing temporarily until the state becomes more consistent with regulations.
“We cannot keep opening and closing as the cost of lost food and retraining staff is extremely expensive,” commented Foti Pappas, one of the owners of Tavern on Lincoln. “It is also not fair for our 30 employees to go 2, 3, or 4 weeks without an income.”
According to Pappas the closing will be temporary until there is a more solid ruling on the future of COVID-19 and what Illinois businesses can stay open or closed.
“We are sorry for our patrons and local customers who have been supportive of our restaurant,” said Pappas in his final comments.
