On March 21, 2017, the DeKalb’s Police Department executed search warrants at 131 South 7th Street and at 131 ½ South 7th Street in DeKalb. The search warrants were issued after several months of investigating the illegal sale of narcotics at this location.
The search of the residences resulted in the arrest of the below individuals:
- Gerald Cook
- Brian Brovelli
- Katie Maccadam
- Katie M. Macadam, 29 years of age, resides in DeKalb, charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine. Macadam was transported to the DeKalb County Jail.
- Brian J. Brovelli, 40 years of age, resides in DeKalb, charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Tramadol), Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Adderall) and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Oxycodone). Brovelli was transported to the DeKalb County Jail.
- Gerald J. Cook, 36 years of age, resides in DeKalb, charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver within a 1000 feet of a Park (LSD Blotter), Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with intent to Deliver (LSD Blotter), Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (LSD Blotter), Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver within a 1000 feet of a Park (Cocaine), Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver (Cocaine), Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine), Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine with the Intent to Deliver, Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver within a 1000 feet of a Park (Heroin), Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver (Heroin), Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Heroin), Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver within 1000 feet of a Park (LSD Liquid), Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver (LSD Liquid), Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (LSD Liquid), Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Hydrocodone), Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Oxycodone), Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Lorazapam) and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Adderall). Cook was transported to the DeKalb County Jail.
The search warrant resulted in the seizure of 30.5 grams of cocaine, 13.5 grams of Methamphetamine, 321 hits of LSD, 5.5 grams of liquid LSD, 3.8 grams of Heroin, Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, Lorazapam, Tramadol and Adderall. Most of the illegal narcotics seized in these search warrants were planned for distribution in the DeKalb Area.
The DeKalb Police Department encourages residents to contact the police department if they see illegal activities occurring in their neighborhoods. The police department will investigate all complaints of drug usage and drug sales that occur in this community.
