A free meal on Christmas Day will be provided to anyone in need from Jamrah Middle Eastern Cuisine Restaurant in Sycamore between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. This is meant to benefit seniors, international students, area homeless, and others whom may be less fortunate this holiday season. No one will be turned away at their 2672 DeKalb Ave. location near Hy-Vee.
The Jamrah Christmas lunch will include a delicious sandwich of chicken shawarma, homemade soup, rice, a beverage, and baklava. Owner and community resident Ammar Mahmood says, “The reason for this meal is to make a positive impact on both the DeKalb and Sycamore communities. My goal is to fill Jamrah for the entire time, and my family will be right alongside helping to make it a success. We’re quite thankful for our many customers and fans for their tremendous support around this event!”
Having celebrated their one-year anniversary in November, Jamrah also recently reached 1,000 fans on Facebook and is giving away three gift cards at www.facebook.com/JamrahRestaurant. Visit Jamrah’s website to see all they have to offer!
