In January 2017, the Cortland Police Department will begin 24 hour patrols of the community. Cortland’s Police Department is currently in the process of hiring another full time police officer, who will join them as they begin 24/7 policing on January 1st.
As Russ Stokes, Cortland’s Mayor states in his newsletter, “This much needed and overdue enhancement in the delivery of police services will not only service as a crime prevention tool, it will also be a plus as we attempt to attract businesses that would be beneficial to our community.”
Cortland’s full time officers have chosen to unionize and are being represented by the Metropolitan Alliance of Police. Negotiations for their first contract are currently on-going.

ABOUT TIME…NEVER HEARD OF ANYTHING SO STUPID ESPECIALLY NOW A DAYS

Malta only has part time police

Wow!

‘Bout time they invested more in the safety of the community. There has been more crime in the last couple of years and hopefully police presence will help deter at least some of that.
