Juan Vargas
On February 25, 2016, the DeKalb Police Department conducted a search warrant in the 400 block of Colonial Drive, DeKalb Illinois. The search of the residence was conducted in reference to a child pornography investigation. An officer working with the Illinois Crimes against Children (ICAC) Task Force learned that child pornography was being disseminated from the address on Colonial Drive. The sharing of child pornography occurred from November 23, 2015 through December 16, 2015.
A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of a computer and several other items of evidentiary value. Child pornography was found on a computer that belonged to Juan Vargas.
Vargas was transported to the DeKalb Police Department where he was interviewed. Vargas admitted to being in possession of the child pornography and that he allowed other to access, view and download the child pornography.
Juan Vargas, 60 years of age, 400 block of Colonial Drive, DeKalb, was charged with Aggravated Child Pornography, distribution (Class X Felony), Aggravated Child Pornography, possession (Class X Felony), Child Pornography, distribution (Class X Felony), Child Pornography, possession (Class 2 Felony), Aggravated Child Pornography, distribution (Class X Felony) and Aggravated Child Pornography, possession (Class 2 Felony)
Vargas was transported to the DeKalb County Jail where he is currently incarcerated.
