The DeKalb Park District recently opened the newly installed playground at Garden of Eden Park and held a ribbon cutting prior to the August Board Meeting. The new playground area replaced the old wooden structure with equipment repurposed from Pappas Park along with a new multi user “oodle” swing. The new playground area is handicap accessible and includes new sidewalks surrounding the playground. “The new playground area offers a variety of play options for kids” said Scott deOliveira, Marketing Supervisor for the DeKalb Park District. “Children in the area are really excited to have the new playground in their neighborhood”.
The Garden of Eden playground replacement is part of a larger playground replacement initiative to modernize and improve accessibility of playgrounds throughout the Park District. Currently, there are 18 playgrounds located in parks throughout the Park District.
