Public Works Director T.J. Moore has announced his resignation from the City of DeKalb. Moore has accepted the position of Director of Public Works and Engineering for the Village of Hanover Park.
Moore spent four years in DeKalb as Public Works Director and led a number of projects and initiatives during his tenure.
“T.J. Moore was an integral part of the management team for the City,” said Mayor John Rey. “His expertise will be missed.”
Moore oversaw construction of the City’s new, state-of-the-art Police Department at 700 West Lincoln Highway. The facility opened in 2013. Additionally, Moore managed the South First Street water main replacement project and the resurfacing of Bethany Road.
“T.J. accomplished a lot during his time here,” said City Manager Anne Marie Gaura. “Evidence of his hard work is present all over the City.” Moore’s last day with the City will be Wednesday, April 8.
“Leaving DeKalb was a hard decision for me to make,” Moore said. “I felt very at home in this community and I enjoyed serving the public here.”
The City of DeKalb will begin recruitment for Moore’s position immediately.
