DeKalb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a Domestic Dispute in the 1100 block of Baseline Rd. at 12:52am on March 30, 2015 and while en-route to the call learned that Jeffrey S. Nissen (D.O.B. 9/20/89) was attempting to leave the residence in a vehicle which did not belong to him. The caller advised that Mr. Nissan had been drinking and a records check also revealed that he had a Revoked Drivers License. As deputies neared the residence they observed a vehicle matching the description headed westbound on Baseline Rd. at Pleasant Hill Rd.
Upon attempting to stop the vehicle the driver fled at a high rate of speed continuing westbound from Glidden Rd. on Baseline Rd.. A short time later the vehicle drove off the road into the north ditch striking a utility pole and rolling over several times ejecting Nissen from the vehicle at some point. Nissen was transported from the scene by Kirkland Fire/EMS and later pronounced dead at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Rockford.
