The Waterman Lions Club will be holding a farm tractor pull and offering hot air balloon rides as part of their annual Summerfest and Antique Tractor & Truck Show this Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Lions Park in Waterman. Tethered balloon rides will be offered, weather permitting, on a first come basis between 6:00 and 7:00 a.m.
Other events include a French toast breakfast from 7:00 to 9:30 a.m. and activities for kids and adults will run all day and well into the late evening. The day wraps up with a fireworks show and music by bands near the beer garden.
According to Leonard Johnson, co-coordinator of the show, “We intend the summerfest to be an affordable family oriented day of fun in the park. There is no charge for most of the events.” He says there are many planned attractions centered on a display of antique tractors, trucks and engines. These include Waterman & Western train rides, hay rides, barrel train rides, vintage baseball, Mr. Steve’s Kids Show at 11 a.m., Lions food concessions, craft show/flea market, petting zoo, Parade of Power, live music, cowboy quick draw, pedal pull for kid’s and adults, trophy awards and Lions draw down raffle.
