The DeKalb County CA$H Coalition aims to help spread the word about the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program in our community to ensure that low income individuals and families, seniors, and students are aware of this quality free tax help service. There are quite a few locations throughout the county to help local residents.
The Goodwill Free Tax Help Location in DeKalb is on the NIU Campus at Founders Memorial Library, Student Lounge (Ground Floor)
217 Normal Road, DeKalb from February 19 thru April 9; every Wednesday from 12 – 5 pm and on Tuesday, April 15 from 12 – 5 pm. All NIU Students are welcome, including International students! To schedule an appointment, call 815.987.6200. Walk-ins are welcome.
The AARP Tax-Aide and DeKalb County Free Tax Preparation Sites are listed below. No income guidelines apply. AARP/TCE Program offers free tax help to elderly and low-to moderate income level individuals. In DeKalb at the DeKalb County Community Outreach Building,
