University City Barbershop (817 W. Lincoln Highway, DeKalb) is hosting a fundraising event to benefit Kishwaukee United Way on Saturday, September 3, 2011, from 11 am to 3 pm. A portion of the day’s proceeds will be generously donated to Kishwaukee United Way.
Christopher Hickman, owner of University City Barbershop, approached Kishwaukee United Way expressing the desire to put together an event that would be good for both organizations. The end result is the Cuts for a Cause event. Christopher and his staff will be on hand to provide the professional and affordable masculine hair cuts they have been providing for several years.
Jackie DiNatale, Coordinator of Outreach for Kishwaukee United Way, said “We were thrilled that Chris called and wanted to help Kishwaukee United Way. We are a community-based organization so we love when the community asks to partner with us.
