Grant, Lee, Custer and Company return to Sycamore to present, “1863.” This annual event looks at life 150 years ago during our country’s Civil War, year by year. This year “1863″ will include a discussion of the Emancipation Proclamation, the Battle of Vicksburg, Gettysburg and the Gettysburg Address. However, the program will not just present these topics, but provide a well-researched debate from the perspectives of the leaders from both the North and South.
“1863” will be presented in the DeKalb County Community Foundations’ Freight Room, 475 W. DeKalb Ave. in Sycamore this Saturday, November 9th, 2013 from 7-9pm. The event is sponsored by the Sycamore History Museum. Light refreshments will be served after the program. The cost to attend is $10, $5 for students.
