(DeKalb) – From the publication of The Time Machine in 1895, H. G. Wells spent his literary career dominating the world of science fiction with his innovative and groundbreaking novels. He continued to fuel the imaginations of his readers with several of his other stories, including: The War of the Worlds, The Invisible Man, The First Men in the Moon, and The Island of Doctor Moreau.
During this program, hosted by the DeKalb Public Library on Thursday, September, 18, at 6:00 p.m., we will discuss many of his most important and inspiring works. Participants will get a glimpse into one of the greatest and most prolific creative minds of a generation. This program will also include a discussion of the scandal caused by the CBS Radio Network broadcast of The War of the Worlds on October 30, 1938.
This program is free and intended for teens and adults. No registration is required. It will be held in the lower-level Zimmerman Meeting Room.
