Group of like-minded citizens noticing the need for a “Clean-up Day” in Downtown DeKalb came together and started a movement that has Sprung into a fun day for all.
Folks will meet at the Egyptian Theatre, 135 North Second Street, downtown at Noon this Sunday, April 22nd. The parameters of the area to be cleaned up are 1st Street to 7th, and Locust to Grove. Maps will be provided with garbage drop off points for the city to pick up the bags. (If the weather allows and we have time and person-power, we will extend to the area behind Walgreen’s to Pearl Street.) Gloves, bags and tools will be provided. The Lincoln Inn will provide refreshments afterwards at 2:00 in their back room.
Gloves, buckets and waste bags, shovels, rakes and brooms will be provided. Please feel free to bring any of your own supplies/tools and dress accordingly! (Also, please do some sort of dance or prayer for NO SNOW or RAIN!)
FunME Events has generously donated prizes and we will pull volunteer names out of bucket when we meet at Lincoln Inn.
3rd place: Two tickets to a June Kane County Cougars game
2nd place: Two tickets to June Chicago Cubs game
1st place: Two tickets to Jesus Christ Superstar

With lots of help!!!
So proud of my daughter for organizing thisð
City made the mess they should clean it up
Doubt ‘the city’ made the mess. There are areas that have been a mess for a long time, and it takes awhile to get that way…. Just no one cleaning up anymore.
Grace Mott they brought the mess to Dekalb
Alan Scott who did?
Just help out for Peteâs sake
Alan Scott, I understand your frustration. I really do. It is kind of what led to me gather people to clean up. Be the change, and show the city we have pride. Let’s get something started.
