The DeKalb County Homemakers Education Association (HEA) will be having a county-wide “Whimsical Vintage Fashion Show” presented by Lauren Woods, owner of Cracker Jax in downtown DeKalb. This program will be presented this Thursday, March 22, at 6:30 p.m. in the DeKalb County Farm Bureau Auditorium, 1350 West Prairie Drive, Sycamore. The event is open to the public and free of charge.
Cracker Jax is a lovely and unique store located in downtown DeKalb. Its inventory is both new and vintage. A person could spend an entire afternoon just looking at all the merchandise available and still miss something. Lauren Woods is a local gal who lived in California for several years, but returned home when her father became ill.
Not finding a vintage store in the area like the ones she was used to, she identified the need for a one-of-a-kind store in DeKalb. Lauren has a love for many things old and new which is reflected in her inventory of everything from A-Z. Not only does she have vintage clothing and jewelry, but candles, picture frames, purses, gloves, flowers, glassware, lamps and lighting. “Whimsical Vintage Fashion Show” will feature many of Cracker Jax’s items.
