Seven years ago, the NIU Convocation Center started the Convo’s Colossal Clean Sweep to bring the community together during tough economic times.
It proved a tremendous success and, after a year off, the Clean Sweep is back: The Convocation Center will host its flea market and garage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, May 1, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 2.
Admission to the Clean Sweep is $2 for adults and free for children ages 6 and younger. Tickets are only sold at the NIU Convocation Center on the days of the event.
Vendor registration is now open. Individual vendor space starts at $30; commercial space starts at $60.
Registration forms and rules are available online or in person at the Convocation Center box office. All registration forms must be filled out and returned to the NIU Convocation Center by Monday, April 30. Fax the forms to (815) 752-6801 or bring them to the Convocation Center, located at 1525 W. Lincoln Hwy. The box office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Park in C2 and use Entrance 2.
Items prohibited from sale include, but are not limited to, guns, knives, contraband, fireworks, drugs, tires, suggestive material (such as pornography), alcohol and animals.
For more information, call (815) 752-6800 or email convocenter@niu.edu.
