Diseases that were once nearly eradicated in the western world are again threatening young children. Although numerous studies have proven the safety of vaccinations, low vaccination rates in some communities are causing outbreaks of whooping cough, measles, and other serious but preventable diseases. Join Jane Lux, DeKalb County Public Health Administrator, to explore the facts about 21st century vaccines, the future of vaccinations, and the necessity of vaccines in our local and international community.
This is one of the monthly STEM Cafés – fun, casual gatherings where adults can eat, drink, and chat with STEM professionals about the latest scientific research. These events are free and open to the public. This discussion will take place at O’Leary’s Restaurant & Pub, 260 E. Lincoln Hwy. in downtown DeKalb this coming Wednesday, May 27th, from 6:30 to 8:30pm. Food and drink can be purchased at the restaurant.
